Fast-forward to now – living in Portugal has brought a shift to my work in a coincidental “East meets West” manner. The blue and white Portuguese tiles have merged with my batiks. I have integrated the intricate details from my  mandalas to painting the famous Viana’s Heart. As with my time in Asia, I have embarked on an inspired journey of painting various traditional Portuguese themes. From the simplicity of the famous sardines to recreating elaborate Barcelo’s roosters. I continue using the same tools and the same skills I learned many years ago but I am constantly learning and experimenting and always aiming to create art with a fresh perspective.
